I visited Ealing station last time he said there was a glory hole there, and it was obvious there never had been one. Glory holes are a thing of the past as far as public toilets are concerned. It is a dilemma whether to publicize the location of any remaining/new cottage glory holes or not, as it seems the authorities use this site to identify them and close them as soon as they are publicized. Nowadays there are much fewer public cottages around, and any glory holes are quickly covered up. So it seems there remain some in superstores, etc. but we don't know where these are. No doubt these will be covered up pretty quickly too whether publicized or not. It is, after all, vandalization and a public nuisance, danger to minors, etc. Cubicles with glory holes are largely out of action to the general public due to being hogged for hours by some gay men. Local authorities are now wise to the nuisance aspect of glory holes, whereas years ago they rarely seemed concerned. So if you know of any still going the best option is still to keep exact locations off sites such as this, but include these in private messages to individuals who request this information and hope these are genuine and not authorities/police monitoring this site. I would certainly like to know the location of any existing in London. However we have to face the fact that cottaging and glory holes in cottages are largely a thing of the past, and are unlikely to come back. So alternatives must be found for those of us who are not monogamous or don't have a regular partner. The Internet, bars, clubs, saunas, cruising grounds seem the only options currently available in the UK, and some of these only available in big cities. Strange that with gay liberation, legalization of backroom clubs/gay saunas, etc. the opportunities for quick anonymous or semi-anonymous sex, especially with bi/straight men, seems to have greatly reduced. At one time glory holes could be found everywhere in cottages all over the land. No less than about 7 in my immediate area alone at various times, and more a little further away. Baker Street, Liverpool and Hammersmith underground stations have all recently had sightings of cocks on display, and some being played with - not always by the owner's own hand! But I no longer have the same energy or courage (for which read, youthfull folly) and don't linger for very long. If I (and my dick - and the target of my lust) are in the mood, I sometimes tempt someone to meet me outside, which can turn into a more in depth encounter. That reminds me of Kevin, who I met a few months ago at the cottage opposite Queensway just inside Hyde Park. There is also a cottage in Wembley Park tube and the one in Carnaby Street is also active. Glory Holes? Hardly, but at least signs of life that echo the glory days of yesteryear. Saunas serve me well, generally, and I like the ambience. Go well | ||

Rigger - gives a new twist to 'I live in a cottage'. Mind you, as you said, some queens did that when they were used as cottages. Ones round here have become shops/betting shops, filled in (if underground) or replaced with so-called 'superloos'. Some, believe it or not, have become restaurants. | ||
