Facilities: 3.5/5 This sauna is pretty large but in a dilapidated state. Downstairs are located the locker room, a large bar area that serves hot food and drinks & is nicely appointed with comfy chairs, a decent sized steam room & jacuzzi pool, along with a shower area. The shower area had weak water pressure and could do with some maintenance, the soap dispensers were either empty or broken. A porn cinema is off to one side.
Two separate stairwells lead upwards, the rearward one has a large toilet room at the stair base.
Upstairs were a large porn cinema with glory hole cubicles, private rooms & a room with two way mirrors. Further showers with good water pressure and topped-up soap dispensers. Seating areas are scattered around the corridors which make good observation points.
A third level has fetish areas & dark rooms.
Staff: 5/5 Very friendly & correct attitude.
Clientele: 3/5 Mainly white & mature but with a significant smattering of younger guys. Whilst cliques were in evidence most guys were friendly in nature & a good atmosphere prevailed.
Overall: 3.5/5 This sauna is in need of some significant maintenance, tiles are often cracked & damp can be smelt even in the dry areas. The corridors are very narrow & this makes passing a constant issue, the building has an interesting maze like layout & takes some exploration.
Other areas such as the bar are in better shape & there are plenty of private alcoves if you want some space. The staff are very accommodating & a hot meal can be ordered from the kitchen. If you make the effort then people will talk to you and the sociability factor here is good.
The sauna is located in a poor area & the on street parking is an issue. A smashed up car was abandoned & a local pub is located nearby, smokers could observe your entry & exit. It felt uncomfortable going back to my car in the dark.
Spending some money tidying its rather frayed edges could bring this sauna up to a four star but the reality is the location probably depresses any investment potential which is a shame. If you are happy parking your car here then I'd still recommend looking in because despite its weaknesses the sauna has a certain charm factor.

I like this place but, because of where it is situated stops me visiting, got everything a sub guy like me wants and if it was in the town centre l would def visit more often, there is a pub few doors down which makes fear going there as it is in a rough part of town and the locals dont look friendly |

This is the “ugly sister” of the three greenhouse saunas. I hadn't been here for some considerable
time and I can only just dimly remember that it didn't have a Jacuzzi on my previous visit. The rest
of the place appears to be roughly the same with a steam room, sauna, various cabins and darkrooms,
a couple of porno video rooms and a licensed bar. External smoking area. There is parking in front
of the premises and in neighbouring roads, but I would feel uncomfortable coming back to my car after dark.
It all looks and feels seedy though and is a bit like a maze - “up and down” and “in and out” so you
can easily get lost. There was also a pervading smell on my Saturday afternoon visit appearing to
emanate from the Jacuzzi, this sort of problem is usually caused by poor Ph balance and the
chlorine and/or the bromine content in the Jacuzzi water. You have probably been at a sauna
when they come along with a test-tube and take a sample of water away for testing – well I didn’t
see this happening at Newport Greenhouse, although testing may have taken place when I wasn’t
there. I wont go into the problems that a badly balanced Jacuzzi chemicals can cause, but they are
not pleasant.
Another of my pet hates are the very small lockers that all of the Greenhouse Saunas use. You
have so little space that you have to bundle up your clothes to get everything in. God know what
happens in winter when you may be wearing and thick winter coat!
On my visit there were a reasonable number of attendees of mixed ages from some in the early 20’s
to those of over 60. There were three “trannies”, so all were catered for. Most of the action took place
on the top floor orgy rooms, the glory hole section of one of the porno video rooms and also in the
ground floor porno.
If I was asked to rate this sauna out of 5, I would give it 2 to 3 stars. |
