As I visited this sauna for only the first time yesterday, I thought that I would pass on some comments here which might be useful to others considering taking that first step, too. Note that I have limited experience of other saunas in the UK, so I will not be making comparisons with other venues.

The admission price is £16, which is clearly not cheap, but it is a quality establishment, clean, large and with numerous variety and facilities - something for everyone, I would say. The staff are pleasant and co-operative and there is a friendly feel to the place. There is a decently-sized, deep pool, a hot (well, warm!) tub, a dry sauna and a steam room each with enough space for over a dozen people, as well as showers, a locker room etc..

For those going there for sex there are a number of smaller cubicles or rooms with beds, half a dozen glory holes and a dark room - not that anybody seemed to object to sexual activity in the other areas as well - several screens with films, and a room signposted 'The Dungeon' (which was empty when I visited it!)

There were a wide range of ages and types there yesterday - some bolder, some shyer - with a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. As a first timer I did not feel like an 'outsider' - I was neither ignored nor pestered but treated with respect.

I would have no hesitation recommending this place to guys of any age and type - as long as you can afford £16. If you want to cover yourself up with your towel and stick to the sauna and pool you can; alternatively, if you are looking for some 'fun' you will be able to find it, too. I plan to return and try out some of the 'Events' nights, too, such as 'Dare to Bare' (Wednesdays), Bear night (the third Saturday each month)and Tranny night (Fridays).

Update: My visit last Saturday (29/04/2017) revealed a number of changes in the facilities so I decided too add an updated review.

Facilities: 5/5 Downstairs directly opposite to the main grand staircase where the internet terminals used to be has been completely re-purposed. Now their is a sling room with adjacent semi-private cubicles (chains not doors), a toilet & 2nd set of cubicles with chains. Two of the cubicles did have doors but they didn't seem to lock & the cubicles are very small. This area was less frequented than the other cruising areas.

Upstairs, off to the right of the main grand staircase the layout of the cruise area & private cubicles has been rearranged. Again several small cubicles with chains plus at least one with a door that doesn't lock. A 2nd porn room with seating has been added.

Downstairs in the cafe mobile phones are now banned & the free wifi has been removed. Oddly use of tablets isn't banned, a contradiction I highlighted as they also have cameras installed.

General decor in various parts of the sauna seemed to have been tidied up, the downstairs showers seems brighter than I recalled.

Overall: 5/5 The upstairs changes seem to be largely for the sake of it, but the extra rooms & toilet downstairs although little used are an improvement & might provide a retreat from an unwanted pursuer?

The restriction of mobile phones to the locker area is irritating but since I always carry a tablet around of little impact on me personally.

Additional note on parking. I was unaware that there is a 2nd overspill car adjacent to the main site where the 'no entry' signs are located. Technically a short one way street don't worry about going right out & around to gain access. As long as there are no on coming cars you should be able to nip in quickly. This 2nd car park means that even on the busiest of days you should find a space without going off site.

Facilities: 5/5 This sauna has it all & its big, has a decent sized jacuzzi, swimming pool, two steam rooms a sauna box along with lots of cruising areas both upstairs & in the basement. The smokers get a well appointed terrace & lounge up on the roof. Their is also a decent cafe where hot food is available. It's clean but on busy days the size and people traffic can lead to some inevitable mess.

Staff: 5/5 Friendly & correct attitude.

Clientele: 5/5 A broad mix of ages & ethnicities. Like all saunas more mature men are the majority but a significant number of younger guys come in here. Being the Greater Birmingham area their is also a good mixture of blacks, East & South Asians etc. If you have a type, their is a good chance at least one guy who comes in will match it (pot luck as ever).

I've also found this place to have a good balance between chatty social types & cruisers. There are a lot of 'circlers' walking around. As this is located on an industrial estate don't expect many tourists to come in, the broad mix of people in here represents a cross section of British society.

Overall: 5/5 Along with Northwich I'd rate this as a top sauna in the British Isles. On a quite day the facilities are entertaining enough to make me feel I've had my money's worth. There is significant parking on site but on very busy days like Saturday I've had to venture into neighbouring residential areas to park. Whenever I'm in the West Midlands I try to make point of stopping in here. I recommend you visit by car.

It is some time since I visited this sauna and there have been a few minor changes. My visit took place on one of the Bears' Days
(3rd Saturday of the month) and as is usual for these days, it was very busy with bears, chubbies and mature men with quite a few
youngsters too. It is possible to get here on public transport but is much easier to go by car as there is plenty of free car parking.

The place used to be one of my favourite saunas because of its size, swimming pool, two steam rooms and Jacuzzi. I am not so
sure now as I believe it has been surpassed by the Northwich Sauna, which although it doesn't have a swimming pool, has some
pretty good facilities.

As in Luton, I noticed that there has been some re-arrangement of the restrooms, many are now fitted with windows and I am wondering
if they are considering having “swinger nights” here too. New facilities include a “piss” room for those that like such facilities, replacing
what was the old porn-video cinema.

The “sexy spots” are the two steam rooms (the upstairs was not working when I was there), the Jacuzzi and the various dark
rooms and new porno-video room. The basement dungeon is still active.

Of course, as it was a Bears' Day there was the usual “free high calorie” food being served – the bears aren't happy unless
they have a lot of fatty food and chips ;-) I was rather surprised that a can of Fanta cost £1.20 – this isn't central London!
