Facilities: 2.5/5 A medium large sauna over two floors. Downstairs is the reception area & jacuzzi. The jacuzzi is a lovely size & adjacent to the bar area, sadly it was stone cold.

Upstairs are located the changing room & lockers along with the cruising areas, steam room & dry sauna box. The usual dark area, private cubicles & porn cinema. It has quite a complicated maze like layout. Facilities were generally clean but damp from the showers was never moped up.

Staff: 2/5 Indifferent to their duties.

Clientele: 2.5/5 A broad age range leaning towards latter middle age & mainly ehtnically white. On a Sunday afternoon it was very quite until very late on the afternoon when their was an uptake in footfall but it never got busy. It was too quite for a sociable rating.

Overall: 2/5 This place left me cold, both literally & metaphorically. The stairwells were cold & drafty, the upstairs cruise area is large but made poor use of the space. The steam room was too small for a gay sauna this size, the location of the lockers/changing was out of the way & not clearly marked.

The downstairs jacuzzi had in my opinion not been turned on to save on money as it was too quiet. This made it unusable from cold & it would take sometime to heat up if it got busy.

The staff weren't hostile, indeed they offered to turn the jacuzzi on for me when I wanted to use it but I was a moot point. It should have been hot & ready to go from opening time. Instead I detected indifferent air of attitude from them. They never seem to venture beyond the bar to check upstairs.

I wouldn't return here, something in the atmosphere was lacking e.g. attention to detail. Given how quite it was on a Sunday afternoon this doesn't bode well. I would be surprised if this sauna survives long term. It also divides up the clientele with the Boiler House on the outskirts of Sheffield & experience tells me that the UK's major regional cities can only support one gay sauna in 2019. It's nice that they tried, a shame they didn't try hard enough.
