I hadn't been back to the sauna since March of this year. When I paid a visit a few days ago, I was shocked to see that nothing much has been done to complete the
fitting out since then. It looks as though some work has started on the new steam room, but we are also still left with the old steam room not being converted
into G.F. showers.

It is really inconvenient to have to go upstairs to take a shower after using the hot facilities or even, for that matter, taking a shower when you first arrive.
It is also stupid to have showers in a dry area where people are cruising. This also encourages people on arrival not to clean themselves before using the
facilities smelling of B.O. or smoke, which is pretty unpleasant for the other punters, unless you are into scat or golden showers of course!

I really think that the owners of this sauna should consider offering a concessionary entry fee until such time as all the works have been completed. At present
the charge is £14 (with concessionary rates for the less popular times [late or early] when they want to fill the place up). I would consider that the regular fee
is the top figure that anyone would expect to pay to go to a sauna in Sheffield. We are not talking of Darlaston here (the entry fee of which, some clients baulk
at), so if they intend to add to the present entry fee when the works are completed, I for one will certainly not be visiting this place again. After all there
are other saunas, which maybe a little further away, but offer similar facilities at cheaper prices AND have conveniently located showers!

One understands why the owners are not closing the place and finishing the job in a couple of weeks, because the punters are financing the improvements as they go
along whilst still paying ‘full whack’ for unfinished facilities. This is a shame, because this could be a very nice sauna if all these matters were dealt with.

UPDATE Posted Posted on Sunday, March 26, 2017 - 04:19 pm:

I am happy to say that the facilities have improved since my last visit. The Jacuzzi is now finished and what a fine Jacuzzi it is. The new sauna with it's rear
darkroom is now located next to the changing room. Unfortunately the new steam room is yet to be completed as well as the ground floor showers, so you
still have to trundle upstairs to shower and use the old small steam room at the bottom of the stairs. Hopefully, these last items will be completed quickly
and then we shall have a fine gay sauna in Sheffield. I find it a little strange that when such major works of improvement and refurbishment are being
carried out, that a concessionary entrance fee is not in operation. A £ or two less would "sweeten the pill" during these times. I cannot believe that they are
going to charge more than the 11am-9pm (Standard Price) - £14, which is still well above the price in other saunas round and about.

Nevertheless, I went on a "Naked Day" and there was plenty going on all around the place with a good mixture of old and young.

UPDATE Posted on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 12:05 pm:

Just revisited the Boiler Room and have to report that the building works are still not finished, although the new Jacuzzi looks as though it will be opening in the
next week or so, but there it still the relocation of the sauna, steam room and showers to be carried out - so perhaps charging a basic price of £14 is a bit much
whilst all this is going on. Still, I suppose "if you know and you pays your money....."

This time I was visiting on a Saturday and it was a lot busier with a higher proportion of younger and middle-aged clients there. Plenty of action all around the place.

Worth a visit if in the area.

FIRST POSTED on Tuesday, May 03, 2016 - 12:52 pm:

This was my first visit to The Boiler Room, which was previously known as “Bronx” and, if I remember rightly, didn't have a very good name. Well, the new owners,
who are branching out from their sauna of the same name in Hove, are in the process of upgrading The Boiler Room - Sheffield.

The sauna is in an industrial area towards the edge of town and there is plenty of parking in the side roads. There is even a limited amount of parking on site but
I think this is mainly for staff. You can also catch an X78 bus from Sheffield Interchange (every 10 minutes) and get off opposite Windsor Street and walk further
down Savile Street E. to the sauna.

On the ground floor is Reception, Snack Bar (with Licence) and various changing areas. The facilities include a Jacuzzi (3 persons), steam room, sauna cabin and
open air smoking facility. The Snack Bar does fry-ups etc. at reasonable prices. Upstairs is the play area with glory hole cabins, restrooms, sling, St Andrew-X,
and two porno-video rooms with various other TV monitors scattered around the area. There are also some showers up here.

The immediate drawbacks are the works that are continuing at the present time. A new large Jacuzzi is being installed together with, I understand, some new
showers close to the wet areas. The present showering arrangements are not good in that it takes some time to find them and they are too far from the wet
areas so clients go straight to the facilities without showering! This sauna also has those very small clothes lockers (à la Greenhouse Saunas), God knows what
you do in the winter with a heavy overcoat! The steam room is also very small with room for only 4/5 people. The sauna is a bit better but still would only seat about 12.

The staff are very pleasant and the place is cleaned regularly. The clientèle are of mixed ages and on my visit, which was a Wednesday afternoon, was not that busy
but there were enough to have a good time. For some reason these South Yorkshire lads were a bit shy, many of them seeming to prefer the anonymity of a glory-hole cabin!

I, of course, am not party the plans for the completed improvements – it may well be that the steam room and sauna will be relocated and increased in size.

I am sure that, when the refurbishment is complete, this will become a poplar sauna.

At the present time, if you get there before 12-noon, you can take the Earlybird Offer of £10. There is also Friday Night Owl Offer - 5pm-7pm for £8. The normal
price is £14. You can also have a private room for an extra £6 which has Key to your room, own LARGE locker, bottle of water & mints, TV with porn, phone
charger, clock, mirror and paper towel.

Friday Night is Party Night from 7pm – 3am. See the website for details (bears, TV's, Obedience, Trackies etc.)
There are naked days on Tuesdays and Saturdays. There are special prices at this time being offered for these “Specials”
